Alec Cassidy

Alec Cassidy is a film and television composer who holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition and film production from the University of Pittsburgh, winning numerous awards for his music. Alec composed for eight short films during his time at Pitt and was able to record the score for his short film, Forte (2025), with the Pitt Symphony Orchestra – a first for the university.

Alec’s frequent music collaborations with local production company 7to8 Prod. include Forte, the horror short film Palmarius (2025), and most recently the period thriller Burden of Proof (2026).

Alec composes for independent filmmakers across Pittsburgh while also working in the Computing Services division at Carnegie Mellon University.
