Alec Cassidy

Alec Cassidy is a film and television composer based in Pittsburgh, PA. Cassidy is currently studying music composition and film production at the University of Pittsburgh, winning numerous awards for his work, including the 2021 Gluck Student Assistance Fund, the 2023 Alfred d’Auberge Scholarship, and the 2024 Mildred Miller Posvar Scholarship. His hybrid orchestration and postmodern approach to composing fits well with the contemporary style of modern filmmaking.

Raised as a pianist, Cassidy’s music focuses on providing space for emotional connection and thoughtfulness. He started composing for piano and orchestra in 2020, moving into film and television work in 2021. Cassidy’s works include Cam and Theo (2023), Wire (2024), Wish You Were There (2024), and Forte (2025).
